Synopsis: A Voice in the Night is about three boys alone at Blackstone Cabin in the midst of a violent storm. While waiting for Josh’s father to return, a hooded stranger knocks frantically at their door. This story teaches children morals, character, generosity and how to give back to society as they strive and reach their goals in life. Erika-Elizabeth's Review: A Voice In The Night, written by Ernestine Dail was a good book about a teenage boy who is going camping with his friends but there's a robbery at the jewelery store across the street from where is mischievious friend works. I loved what a great influence Brian is to children and his friends. This book was a wonderful book also showing that you shouldn't judge people. 4 Stars

Review: "Pegasus A Dragon's Tale" is a cute little story about a brother and sister who come across a special egg and what happens once it hatches. The names of the characters were creatively written, giving off a feeling of royalty to them. It was a well-written tale with a happy ending that everyone will enjoy. 5 Stars
Review: In this book written by Joanne Lecuyer, Juliane, a young witch meets a traveler with dark intentions who needs to be escorted into the forest. An evil spell is unleashed it needs to be stopped. This book was wonderful, teaching children that power isn't everything, but friendship and love is. This book teaches you to get over your fears, to love and respect others, and be grateful. I liked how this book had Dutch and German words in it for children to learn.
Erika-Elizabeth's Review: Grandpa Guff is the author of Grandpa Guff and the Pasta Wars. He starts telling another one of his funny and unbelievable stories. The story begins at home as his character talks about the Pasta Wars. The Italian people came and started up restaurants. Everyone wanted their restaurants to be better and some began copying their ideas. This made them mad and soon a war began. I didn't really have a favourite part because I loved all of this story but if I had to pick, it would be everyone thinking Grandpa Guff was the saboteur I loved the illustrations in this book as many of them were hilarious. I liked how the book was funny and unpredictable. I always wondered what may happen next. 5 Stars
Review: Pat Frayne is the author of Topaz and the Evil Wizard. The story starts in Knownotten Kingdom where a young fairy girl named Orange Blossom can't find her brother. Topaz, a Yellow Conjure Cat, steps in and finds her brother but when he does things take a turn and other events happen... I loved how this book was suspenseful, I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. I found the story very interesting as the story said more about Topaz. 5 Stars
Erika-Elizabeth's Review: Gift of Sunderland by Jeanne E. Rogers was a wonderful and suspenseful book. The book is a middle grade fantasy that is very touching. The story is mainly about the fight over two brothers over one very important role. The fight leads to a lot of tragedy and has a big impact over Sunderland and Acadia. My favorite character was Fergal, as she was loving, brave, courageous, and learned so much. A few of the characters took risked their lives for each other. I love how there were many Australian things to learn about in this book.I loved the first book as well and couldn't wait to read this one! 5 Stars
Erika-Elizabeth's Review: The Sword of Demelza is a very suspenseful book written by J.E. Rogers. The book is about a few things, starting off with the prologue where you learn a bit about Devon, a fox who lives at the Acadia Abbey with with the monks there. The book introduces you to many other characters all of whom play an important role in the story. Each of these begin with their own quest and eventually meet each other. They soon learn that they must work together and help each other out. I found each of the characters to be pretty smart and courageous. I think they teach the reader about working together and that there are hard choices in life which we must all try to do our best to choose the right one. There are many morals in this book and that is wonderful! I really liked the story! Be sure to check out her website with the kids because it's full of unusual animals to learn about! 5 Stars
Review: Ann Morris does a wonderful job with this delightful tale called, "Surprise in Auntie's Garden." The story is about an aunt and her niece who learn and see many wonderful things in the garden. The story is very informative which teaches children some interesting things about what you can find in the garden. The illustrations were wonderfully done! The pages are very colorful and detailed for parent and child to enjoy. Just a note of interest: This book has also been printed in Spanish. 5 Stars
My Review: This cute story is about a boy and his teddy bear which tells a beautiful tale about how the teddy bear's life changes as the boy grows up. For many toys as children grow up, they are well-worn, tossed out or given away. We really enjoyed this story as it showed another possibility for a teddy bear, something I have done with my daughter. I think a parent and child will have as precious a time reading this tale as the teddy bear was to the boy. 4.5 Stars
Erika-Elizabeth's Review: J.D. Means takes you on a great and exciting adventure full of suspense in his book, “Millie and Honey - The Blue Angel Planet (Volume 3).” The book is about two characters named Millie and Honey who find out something is wrong on the Blue Angel Planet. They go to the planet to find out and help them to solve these problems. This reader liked how you could hear and understand Honey and the other dogs even though they were animals. The story contained much mystery which keeps you wanting more and I found Honey to be my favourite character. This story had beautiful illustrations and will keep the reader entertained. I can't wait for the next book! 5 Stars
2/18/2014 "The Adventures of Cefa the Cat: Book # 1 Cefa Finds a Home" written by Christine CatonRead Now
ISBN: 978-1460906507 Review: “The Adventures of Cefa the Cat: Cefa Finds a Home” is a wonderful tale about a cat named Cefa who gets adopted from the animal shelter. Cefa is a cute little cat who likes many new things but also gets scared of some too just like a real cat. Children will not only learn a moral in this story and a Russian word but will also learn more about cats. This delightful tale teaches a little on cat behaviour and things to watch out for when you take a cat outside. I would recommend this book to any young reader with a cat or one who is about to get one. You can also find this book in Spanish and in Kindle (both in English and Spanish). The link below will take you directly to the English book version on Amazon. 5 Stars
Erika-Elizabeth's Review: “The Witch, the Cat and the Egg” is a creatively written book about a witch who is asked to do something by a dragon. The main character, Juliane, the witch is a good role model for children because she is kind and loves helping others. The potions and spells she knew were creatively thought up as well as the names of the forest creatures by the author. I liked how the characters helped each other, showing that they were great friends and it made a good lesson in friendship. The illustrations that were in the book were good and my favourite character was Magicus her cat because I love cats and thought he was smart. 5 Stars
Kimberly Link, author of many waterfowl books donates a portion of all proceeds to Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary. The sanctuary takes in unwanted and dumped pet ducks and re-homes them. Two of the sanctuary's ducks will be featured in Freckles the Bunny Series Book # 5: Freckles and the Cost of Popularity. I have yet to have the opportunity to read these, however I can tell you that they are on my must read yet book list! Make sure if you are picking up any books that you take a look at AmazonSmile where they donate money to your favorite rescue and remember Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary who is also on there! These two and her other books are available in paperback.
Disclaimer: These books have not been read yet for a proper and accurate review. We are listing these books to help Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary and we do not review pet books if you are an author with one. Very sorry but we just don't have the time nor are we qualified. Thank you!
We do not review anything but children's books but did this one because it is to help a rescue we support. Erika-Elizabeth's Review: Andi the Bee Ants in the Bee Hive is about a disabled bee that can't fly. The queen bee sends Andi on a mission that no one believes she can finish. Andi is successful by showing that a disability can't stop you from your goals as long as you believe in yourself. Sometimes a friend along the way helps make a difference as well. The story also shows that if you work together, you can accomplish anything. This was a great story and will teach children some great morals! 5 Stars
